Seven doors

Nendo, a Japanese design house with offices in Tokyo and Milan, has created seven door designs to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Abe Kogyo, a wooden door manufacturer. All doors have a basic design, but with an unusual twist, that can lead to new possibilities.

My favorites: a door for both kids and adults, a door that doubles as a gallery wall and a door fitted with magnet that acts as a storage unit for pots and trays. The future of door design looks interesting!

A few links:

  • I first thought that these were close-up photographs of cactus, but it turns out they are hyperrealistic paintings by the Korean artist Kwang-Ho Lee. Amazing.
  • I like these cute wallpaper calendars to download.
  • I want to try this recipe for Ricotta Ice Cream With Balsamic Strawberries.
  • Lovely examples of Japanese design shared by a design team from Tokyo.
  • These ideas will help in organizing and storing the kids’ books, now that the schools are out.
  • If you are a sketch artist and want to participate in this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, you can enter this contest, but have in mind that, sketches must be made on napkins! You can see sketches by previous winners and more details here !

Have a good weekend!
