I love these absurd and humorous drawings by Marc Johns. “Finding the humour in things often leads to finding the truth” he says, true I say… They are all original ink and watercolor artworks sold in his shop, by the way.

Daily overview is a project that brings you breathtaking images (overviews) of earth from above. Everyday, a new satellite image is posted focusing on the places and moments where human activity—for better or for worse—has shaped the landscape.
The project was inspired, and derives its name, from an idea known as the Overview Effect:
“The Overview Effect, first described by author Frank White in 1987, is an experience that transforms astronauts’ perspective of Earth and mankind’s place upon it. Common features of the experience are a feeling of awe for the planet, a profound understanding of the interconnection of all life, and a renewed sense of responsibility for taking care of the environment.”

Nick Knight and his team at SHOWstudio have created this beautiful video, using older and unseen footage from Knight’s collaborations with Alexander McQueen. It features some of the designer’s most acclaimed pieces and was created in the occasion of V&A’s exhibition Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. Sadly I did not have the chance to see it, but it turned out to be the most popular show in V&A’s history.
I can’t believe these hilarious “Yoga Joes” by Dan Abramson. The classic plastic toy soldiers are now doing sun salutations, headstands and warrior poses. And as the slogan says, they are “Here to keep the inner peace”.

- Αn amazing, yet little known story about 9/11. I actually double-checked it and not only it’s a true story, but it has also come out as a book.. The message: even in times of great turmoil and conflict, people can and must look to one another for comfort, help, and hope…

I was very happy to find out that the designer of these fabulous notebooks is based in Athens. Fabulous Cat Papers is an Etsy shop that offers a wide range of beautiful handmade notebooks with embroidered Japanese paper covers featuring floral and geometric designs and quirky vintage medical illustrations.

Queen Elizabeth will become today the longest reigning British monarch, after serving 63 years, beating a record set by her own great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria. I was always fond of Lizzie.
You can also watch some of her most significant moments caught on tape, in this video.
A very good article on how to talk to little girls, by Lisa Bloom:
“Teaching girls that their appearance is the first thing you notice tells them that looks are more important than anything. It sets them up for dieting at age 5 and foundation at age 11 and boob jobs at 17 and Botox at 23. As our cultural imperative for girls to be hot 24/7 has become the new normal, American women have become increasingly unhappy. What’s missing? A life of meaning, a life of ideas and reading books and being valued for our thoughts and accomplishments.”

As a parent of three young girls, this is definitely food for thought.
I am starting to look into campers, in case we rent one next summer. I saw this camper and was impressed by the modern style and the fact that it actually expands in triple its size with the press of a button.
I would love to have this painting. It is called Space Madness by Tim Biskup, a California based artist, whose most substantial artistic education took place during his six years working in the animation industry. You can tell when you look at his colorful and cartoon style paintings.
